My final model.....

The idea for my moodbox is actually having columns that do not look like column to support the whole shophouse…
And becoz of the irregular shape of the columns there will be an opening in between so no door will be needed…
The hole in the centre of every level allows natural lighting to come in. As the shophouse itself does not have many windows, the light can brighten the space and it will like more spacious…
There will be four storey for the shophouse…
First storey is Miro’s gallery where he can exhibit his drawings and sculptures…
The second storey will be his studio as he needs a space for his work…
The third level will be his bedroom and his daughter’s bedroom as his companion will be his wife and his daughter…
And the last level will be the living room where he can strengthen his bond with his family…
As for the airwell is the place where he can have talk with his guest so people cannot enter from the first storey but to go through his studio first before they reach the airwell…
Coz I think if they are Miro’s guest he will not mind to show them his studio….
And then the kitchen will be after the airwell…
That’s the journey of my shophouse…

FInal submission

Today is the submission day…and everyone looked really like living dead…
I also stayed out for 2 nights but still cannot finish my model…
We have 3 options for the submission and I choose option 2 which is submit the everything on today but the presentation panels and intech wall on Monday…

Impossible is temporary....

We were advised to use real material for the final model but I choose to use cardboard for the columns coz I need something that can be bending and wood is definitely not a good choice….so after some consideration I decided to not to care so much and start doing my final shophouse model…

Submission review of shophouse mock up

My first 1:50 mock up model after the moodbox…
This is actually almost the same as the 1:100 shophouse mock up which is to use columns to support the whole shophouse…
There is a hole in the centre of every storey to allow natural lighting to come in…
The only different is the staircases…
For the 1:50 shophouse mock up the columns itself is the staircase…

A new moodbox

The idea for the new moodbox is still the same but they look totally different…
It is actually using columns that does not look like normal column to support the whole shophouse..
So for the moodbox I put in a lot of slanted columns and they are connected to every level so that the whole box is being supported and even if I take away the side mounting board the box will sill be very stable…

Start all over again.......

I failed in translating the idea of moodbox into the shophouse…
The idea is just not that and it is kind of messy…
So, I back all the way to the beginning and started to draw out the drawings….
And then make my moodbox again……………

Result for moodbox...

Today we are going to know the result for the moodbox so everyone is so nervous as we all dun want to redo it Xl
And all we need to do is wait for our name to be called…
So I wait and wait and wait…
And I wait until the last one and MR.FOO you forget about me!!!
The paper with my name on it is with you!!!
Ok never mind since I dun have to redo my moodbox………..
And after that we rush to Orchard to take the photo of architecture…

Submission for moodbox

Today is the submission for the moodbox and everyone look so tired…
Well I understand why coz I m also one of them…haha…
And then Kelly told us a good new which is we can straight away go home and sleep after the submission XD
So everyone quickly write the description for the moodbox and rush home and sleep..
